Pop-Up Pianos: Day 5 in Pictures

Piano #14:  Jackie Robinson Recreation Center.  The high ceiling and brick walls created a gorgeous acoustic space.  Perfect for this baby grand piano.

This piano, painted by Annamarie Trombetta, is a tribute to 9/11.  On the Pop-Up Pianos website, she wrote these words about the piano:
"Poetry, painting, and music can inspire when uncertainty, tragedy, and trials transpire -- If hope and transformation is one's desire, search for sounds, images, and words to lift you higher!"

Piano #14: Inwood Hill Park.  At long last.  And just in time... I was able to play one song before the rain started and spoke to a woman walking her dog as well as a woman walking with her two children.  So nice to have a piano here.

EXERCIZE!  I love that this piano is about being healthy.  It's decorated by students from PS 34, who painted what they thought was important to the community.  On the piano's lid, there's a message: "Race doesn't matter."
